Sunoco Logistics to add capacity at Texas terminal
Sunoco Logistics Partners LP said Tuesday that it planned to build two more storage tanks totaling 1.3 million shell barrels of capacity at its Nederland, Texas, terminal.
Sunoco Logistics (NYSE: SXL) said its board of directors had approved the project, which is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of next year.
The company said it has eight tanks planned or under construction at the terminal and that the additions will increase capacity from 12.5 million shell barrels to 16.5 million shell barrels.
Sunoco Logistics is a master limited partnership that Sunoco Inc. (NYSE: SUN) formed to buy, own and operate its refined-product and crude-oil pipelines and terminal facilities.
Both Sunoco Logistics and Sunoco are based in Philadelphia.
