Panalpina Launches Logistics Centre In Bangalore

analpina World Transport, a leading global forwarding and logistics service provider has partnered with Sri Lanka based third-party logistics enterprise, Logiwiz Logistics (I) Pvt. Ltd, to launch its first state-of-the-art logistics centre in Whitefield, Bangalore.

The company sees this move as the beginning of expanding operations in India, and intends to invest $3-5 million to set up network offices and four more similar facilities in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai in the next two years.

Spread over 40,000 square feet, the centre will house technology that will bring services such as Material Handling Equipments (MHE), selective pallet racking system, docking bays equipped to handle 20′ as well as 40′ trailers and a comprehensive insurance coverage for its customers.

“This significant investment is a continuing reiteration of our long-term commitment to India to bring in world-class best practices, technology, processes and significant investment in order to facilitate development of critical infrastructure in supporting the acceleration of India’s international trade,” remarked Robert Timmerman, Regional CEO AIMEC, Panalpina.

By offering supply chain expertise, quality and capabilities to Indian businesses, the IT, auto, pharma, fashion, retail and garment/textile industries are expected to benefit from the facility by helping them better organize their supply chain through improved inventory planning and predictability.
